Netograf.ro: average download speed for the fixed internet was 97.7 Mbps in the third quarter

Official statistics on the quality of fixed and mobile internet service in Romania, updated on Netograf.ro, show that - in Q3 2016 - the users benefited from average actual speeds of 27.98 Mbps for mobile data download, respectively 97.7 Mbps for data download over the fixed internet. “The average download speed actually experienced by fixed internet users in Romania in the third quarter of 2016 is 30% higher than the average speed registered on a national level in the first two quarters of the year. This is means that Romania will remain among the countries with the highest internet access speeds”, declared Eduard Lovin, Regulation Executive Director of ANCOM.
Through Netograf.ro, ANCOM generates statistics on the quality of the fixed and mobile internet service in Romania, including on the average data download speeds, as experienced by the users having resorted to this application to measure their speed, itemised by operator.
Dynamics of average download and upload speeds
The tests carried out on www.netograf.roindicate that - in Q3 2016 - the Romanian users experienced average actual download speeds on the fixed internet that were on an upward trend, compared to the first two quarters of the year. The average download speed over the fixed internet increased by 30%, from 75.07 Mbps to 97.7 Mbps, whereas mobile internet data download speed remained constant, i.e. 27.98 Mbps by reference to the 27.72 Mbps in the first two quarters of the year.
Growth is registered in the actual internet data upload speeds, as well, by approximately 14% - from 64.77 Mbps to 73.78 Mbps for fixed services -, respectively by approximately 3%, from 10.78 Mbps to 11.1 Mbps for mobile services.

How Netograf.ro generates statistics
Netograf.ro generated statistics for fixed and mobile internet based on more than 33,500 tests the users performed in the third quarter of 2016, among which 27,000 have been validated and used in generating the official statistics. Netograf.ro tests the quality of the connection between an end-user’s terminal equipment and a test server connected to a national public internet interexchange point.
How to use Netograf.ro
Netograf.ro is easy to use and offers real-time and accurate results. All you have to do is select your offer type and choose the access modality, - wireless or wired, for fixed internet, and indoor or outdoor for mobile internet. A test takes approximately 30 seconds, and the results obtained may be analysed and compared in the context of the quarterly statistics published under “Additional information”, upon the test completion.
