Head of Pre-accession Coordination Section

Giorgio Ficcarelli was born on 20 July 1960 in Reggio Emilia, Italy.

He studied Political Sciences (at the University of Florence) and attended doctoral courses in International Affairs at Foundation for International Economic Studies and Research in Florence.

 

His professional experience includes various assignments in different International Institutions within the United Nations system, the OECD and in particular at the European Commission, with the EC Delegations in Prague (Head of Phare section, 1993-1997) and Beirut (Coordinator of economic cooperation with Member States and other donor countries, 1997-2001), as well as Officer in charge with the development of community programmes in the audiovisual field in candidate countries (DG EAC-C3, 2001-2003)
