Netograf.ro: The average download speed for the fixed internet reached 112.1 Mbps in 2017

Statistics on the quality of fixed and mobile internet service in Romania, updated based on the tests performed on Netograf.ro – ANCOM’s online tool for testing internet service quality – show that, in 2017, Romanians benefited from average download speeds at national level of 112.1 Mbps for the fixed internet access service (186.6 Mbps for wired and 61.26 Mbps for wireless connections) and 20.44 Mbps for the mobile internet access service. National average download and upload speeds – fixed internet
The tests carried out on www.netograf.ro indicate that - in 2017 - the average download and upload speeds on the fixed internet increased by 18%, compared to 2016. Thus, the average download speed reached 112.1 Mbps (186.6 Mbps for wired and 61.26 Mbps for wireless connections). Thus, the average upload speed reached, on a national level, 93.1 Mbps (146.46 Mbps for wired and 59.63 Mbps for wireless connections).

Average download and upload speeds achieved over fixed internet connections registered in each county are on a growing trend, compared to 2016 and 2015.

The tests carried out on Netograf indicate that - in 2017 - the average download and upload speeds on the mobile internet reached 20.44 Mbps, respectively 9.08 Mbps at national level.

ANCOM’s Report on the quality of the Internet access service in 2017 also makes available information on the packet transfer delay both regarding the fixed internet access providers and the mobile internet access providers, by county, packet delay jitter, and information on the internet access service activation term, fault repair time, frequency of end-users’ complaints, as well as the complaint handling term.
