ANCOM’s Telecom Equipment Exhibition Received a Collection of over 100 Mobile Handsets

The exhibition “Museum of Telecom Equipment” created by ANCOM in 2011 has now extended by a private collection of more than 100 mobile handsets manufactured between 1995 and 2009. The collection includes popular models such as Nokia 5110, 3310, Ericsson T28, Alcatel One Touch DB, that were largely used worldwide. Some of these, perfectly functional models, are available for technology enthusiasts, as well as for those interested in the evolution of the communications industry.

Alongside the new collection, the ANCOM exhibition displays a series of radio equipment, documents and various materials, among which models of the last ebony telephone sets manufactured in Romania, telephone devices used on the battlefield in the second World War, radio sets or old frequency measurement equipment used by the Autority’s experts in the early ‘90s .
The exhibition is open Monday to Friday between 08:30 and 20:00, and Friday, Saturday and Sunday, between 08:30 and 17:00, at the Authority’s headquarters in 2 Delea Nouă Street, Sector 3, Bucharest. Admission is free.
Starting from 2013, most of the exhibits may be visited also online, as part of the vitual museum available on the website www.ancom.org.ro. Moreover, the mobile telephone collection belonging to a private collector is presented on the blog www.vintagegadgetcollector.blogspot.ro.
