Importers and distributors
Importers and distributors must ensure that only products that are conforming to the EU legislation and that bear the 
marking are introduced or made available on the EU market. As they intermediate between the manufacturers and the end-users, they must be aware of the legal requirements and to make sure that these are fulfilled by the imported or distributed products.
If the importers or distributors sell in the European market products under their own name or own mark, they take over the manufacturer’s responsibilities. In this case, they must have sufficient information on the product design and fabrication, as they are undergoing legal liability when the marking is applied.
