Veritel.ro Uses the Consumption Profiles of Romanian Telephony and Internet Users to Calculate the Offers

The Romanian National Authority for Management and Regulation in Communications (ANCOM) has updated on Veritel.ro – the online application for comparing the telecom offers – the values configuring the profile of the occasional, average and intensive user of mobile telephony and mobile Internet, based on the most recent statistical data the Authority gathered from the operators in 2013.
According to the ANCOM data, the average user of mobile telephony and mobile Internet configured on Veritel.ro consumes 100MB Internet traffic in a month, sends 60 national SMS-type messages (57 on-net and 3 off-net) and talks on average 202 minutes on-net (201 to mobile and 1 to fixed networks) and 30 minutes off-net (23 to mobile and 7 to fixed networks).
The occasional user of mobile telephony and mobile Internet consumes 33MB Internet traffic in a month, sends 20 national SMS-type messages (19 on-net and 1 off-net) and talks on average 67 minutes on-net (all to mobile networks) and 10 minutes off-net (8 to mobile and 2 to fixed networks).
The intensive user of mobile telephony and mobile Internet consumes 300MB Internet traffic in a month, sends 180 national SMS-type messages (171 on-net and 9 off-net) and talks on average 606 minutes on-net (603 to mobile and 3 to fixed networks) and 90 minutes off-net (69 to mobile and 21 to fixed networks).
The consumption values of the occasional, average and intensive fixed telephony user were also updated on www.veritel.ro. According to the statistical data aggregated by ANCOM, the average fixed telephony user talks 58 minutes on-net and 34 minutes off-net in a month.
“These pre-set profiles, relying on the statistical data regarding the consumption of electronic communications services in Romania in the first semester of 2013, were introduced on Veritel.ro in order to ease up the configuration of the searched offer. The Veritel.ro users can however configure themselves the average monthly consumption and may choose whether to use these pre-defined profiles in order to precisely find out the most suitable telecom offer in line with their communication needs”, the ANCOM Regulation Executive Director, Mr. Eduard Lovin, said.
By using the Veritel.ro application the users may find in three simple steps the most advantageous offers of fixed and mobile telephony and Internet adjusted to their own consumption preferences: they choose the category of services, insert their consumption estimates and are provided with a list of 25 tariff plans, ranked in order of cost. When the results are displayed, other relevant details are also published, such as the minimum contract duration, the termination penalties, or information on the available promotions.
Veritel.ro is an independent and non-commercial tool developed by the National Authority for Management and Regulation in Communications to the benefit of the telecom users from Romania. With the help of this application, the persons interested in purchasing telephony or Internet services can identify from among the multitude of offers available on the market the one that best suits their needs. The access to this application is free of charge and is not constrained in any way, the users having instant access to all the public offers of all the communications operators from Romania.
